Overview

Join the Magazine Publishing Society, the Arts SU Advice Team & UAL Libraries for a very special Crafternoon this Disability History Month! A zine (pronounced ‘zeeen’, like the end of magazine), is a self published booklet made from 1 or 2 pieces of paper. Zines or 'fanzines' originated through letter-writing, and people sharing information with each other about things they were passionate about.

Magazine Publishing Society

The purpose of the Magazine Publishing Society is to create a safe and inclusive creative environment, aiming to connect students passioned about magazines, journalism or visual arts. People say today’s classmates are tomorrow’s collaborators, and the society wants to help students build those relationships early on, inside the inspiring space that is the Magazine Publishing Society..

Arts SU Advice Team

The Arts SU AdviceTeam are here to help you to have the best experience possible during your time at UAL. The advisors are here to provide independent, impartial and free advice to UAL students on a range of academic and accommodation matters. They also love hosting fun events for our students, and are taking part in Disability History Month to help provide a platform for our students who identify as disabled, and to help signpost them to where they can get assistance from UAL!

UAL Libraries

The UAL Libraries are one of our richest resources at UAL, and the librarians love collaborating with Arts SU for liberation periods such as Disability History Month! They are hosting the Crafternoons to show students that the libraries can also be places of community for them, and have also decided to install Sensory Corner pop-ups in several College libraries during Disability History Month.
