Sports clubs offer opportunities to get involved in competitive and non-competitive sports. Whether it’s competing against other universities in BUCS, or just turning up to have fun, our clubs are a great way to participate in sports and meet new friends.

BUCS Tournament:

In June we send a selection of Men’s and Women’s teams to the BUCS Beach Volleyball Tournament in Bournemouth. It’s a two day event, with the first being bracket/pool games to progress, and the second being either the finals or social 4v4 games.

A separate payment to the organization is required for players accommodation and stay at the event, however the entry fee Is covered by the Arts SU.

Its an exciting event that our competitive beach players train for in our beach season, so get in touch with our Beach Coordinator Lucy to get involved.

Competitive Training & Social Sessions:

These will be announced in January, with a session once a week for social members and a one for competitive players. The venue we will use this year (2024/25) is London Bridge, Marlborough Sports Gardens Beach volleyball courts.

Memberships:

We have two memberships, a social and a competitive. For social members, tickets of £4 per session go up every week that its on, and so it’s a pay as you go system.

The competitive Membership is £20 and gives access to the training and social sessions, and the tournament.

Portugal Deep Dish Tour:

In March our Club Members have the opportunity to go to the Deep Dish Beach Volleyball Portugal Tour, where they take part in clinic trainings taught by professional players and play social games. It’s a week-long stay at an accommodation on the beachfront, and the nights are filled with partying and fun.
