| For Nyoush (2023) is dedicated to Nyousha Movagharzadeh, a young artist and former CSM student who passed on after a period of illness in 2019. This work speaks to the overwhelm that people living with chronic conditions face on a regular basis, from monitoring multiple conditions, juggling treatments, managing relationships and attempting to preserve a sense of self inside a body that suddenly feels foreign. "For me, the greatest challenge in having multiple chronic conditions is the loss of sovereignty. I am constantly fatigued, in pain and saddened that there is plenty my body won't do any more. It is very isolating." |
