About Tea Society

Welcome to the Tea Society!

We're all about finding moments of peace and connection in our busy lives. This year, we aim to create a welcoming community where students can relax, learn, and bond over tea. From tastings to mindfulness sessions, we offer events that promote wellness and cultural understanding. Sustainability and inclusivity are at the heart of what we do. Join us for a cuppa and discover the joy of being present. Keep up with our events, and let's make memories together over a shared love of tea!

Examples of events:

Afternoon/morning tea socials: intimate gatherings for collectively enjoying drinking tea as a safe space to relax and let go from the active stresses in life. In this supportive environment, students can socialise and unwind. Students could bring their favourite tea to share and recommend to others.

Cultural tea celebrations: events centred around various tea cultures, such as Chinese, Japanese, British, or Moroccan tea ceremonies, where attendees can experience and learn traditional rituals and customs. Different flavours can be provided to encourage members to try new styles of tea while learning the history.

Tea and wellness workshops: focusing on teaching the health benefits of tea, including discussions on antioxidants, herbal remedies and what specific teas are used for. By sharing practical tips, students can take this advice to help them in their personal lives.

DIY Tea workshops: Provide ingredients and guidance for members to create their custom tea blends, fostering creativity and exploration of flavours.

Collaborations: can collaborate with other societies by combining tea drinking with artistic activities.

Mindfulness and meditation workshops: guided mindfulness sessions accompanied by tea drinking, providing a relaxing environment for relaxation and stress relief.

Guest speakers: tea experts, enthusiasts, or professionals from the tea industry to share their knowledge, experiences, and insights with members.

Tea Crawl: visiting various tea shops throughout London and getting involved in taste testing and stocking up on teas! These new teas can then be sampled in the following socials.

Keep up to date with when and where these will be happening by following our socials!
