Overview
We want to support you to sell your work at a market this winter!
Thinking about or planning to trade and sell your work at a market this winter? Apply to our Professional Development Fund from 6th November - 2nd December to have your market trader costs reimbursed.
-
Do you need to invest in some equipment (for example, a card reader, foldable table and/or a branded table cloth) to take part? Research what you might need and the costs and include this in your application.
Why Markets?
Markets can be really great places to gain feedback on your work and items, practice talking about your work, answer questions, network, and promote yourself, all with the possibility of gaining extra income. If you're not sure how to apply to be a trader or what markets are on, see our resources below for more support!

How does it work:
Please apply to our Professional Development Fund below, for this opportunity you can apply for up to £100.
The important bit:
Please note funds for this opportunity are limited. They are allocated on a first-come first-served basis, and therefore this opportunity may close sooner than the dates listed.
Once your request has been received, the Arts Programme team will make a decision on whether we are able to release any funds for your request. We will then get in touch with you as to whether you have been successful in your request or not. We hope to be in touch within a week of you applying. If you need this fund in order to purchase something, please wait until you have heard back from us with a decision before purchasing.
Any queries, please email the Arts programme team via: artsprogramme@su.arts.ac.uk
International Students:
Unfortunately, due to government restrictions, we cannot support international students to sell their work for their own income as this would be classed as ‘self-employment’. Self-employment is currently restricted under the visa conditions for those on Student Route Visas (previously named Teir 4 visas). These conditions are set by the UK Government, and ignoring them could mean that your visa is revoked. If you’d like to help change this, there are many campaigns calling on the government to reconsider these and other restrictions; please visit Inter.work, created by UAL alumni Barbra Hernandes, to find out more.
