Overview

Online creative writing session with Caroline.

Please join via the Zoom link emailed to you and have some quiet space around you if possible.

Sessions will take place online with some future in person meetings TBC. In previous years we have built up a real sense of community within the 'zoom' container and the hope is this will lead to opportunities such as zine making and open mic style nights to share your poetry and writing.

More details below, please purchase your free ticket to secure a place and ensure you get any updates.

Creative Writing with poet and facilitator Caroline is a nurturing, expressive, supportive and playful space.

These are online writing sessions to:

  • help find your voice

  • connect with yourself more deeply

  • find community and accountability within a group

  • have fun

  • discover and read the work of other writers for inspiration

  • learn new things

  • share works in progress

  • explore writing for wellbeing and the healing powers a writing practice can facilitate

Through games, exercises, writing prompts and looking to the work of other writers for inspiration, we will find ways to overcome the overwhelm of a blank page, filling notebooks with thoughts, reflections, memories, feelings and ideas. There is always the opportunity to share what you are working on during the sessions, with a longer showcase at the end of each term.

Caroline is a poet, playwright and creative writing facilitator living in South East London with her cat Suki. After receiving a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis age 21 she dropped out of her fashion degree and turned to yoga to help her heal. An accidental career teaching yoga and running retreats led her all over Europe, during which she built up a large stack of notebooks. After losing her father in 2019 she decided to pursue her love of writing and began an MA in Creative and life writing at Goldsmiths. Her poems have been published by AndOtherPoems, Lucent Dreaming, Anthropocene, The North Magazine and commissioned by Apples and Snakes. In 2023 she was long-listed for the Outspoken prize, shortlisted for the Bridport Prize and the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award and commended in the National Poetry Competition. Her first short play ‘Apricots’ was showcased at Hackney Empire in April 2024.

“Caroline’s sessions have helped me immensely in finding a safe and inspiring space to be creative; I’ve been writing more ambitiously and more consistently ever since I began working with her.” - Penny

“Caroline is a brilliant teacher who creates a welcoming and friendly space online where we explore different writing styles and learn from inspirational poets. I've found solace and joy by writing again.”  -Liz
