VARSITY 2024

This years’ competitive sports day against our rivals Goldsmiths will be held on Saturday 9^th March at University of Greenwich (Avery Hill Campus). Make sure to note it down in your calendar, because you do not want to miss out!

This year, the following teams will be playing at Varsity: 

• Mixed Badminton 
• Mixed Tennis 1
• Women’s Volleyball
• Mixed Volleyball
• Mixed Hockey
• Men’s Football 1 and 2 
• Women’s Football
• Women’s Netball 1
• Cheer Stunt (and a performance from Pom) 
• Women’s Basketball
• Men’s Basketball 

Taekwondo and Pole Dance will also be partaking in the Varsity competition. Their competitions will be held at Goldsmiths Students' Union. 

What is Varsity?

Varsity is the biggest sporting event in the calendar at UAL. Every year, our sports teams compete against our rivals Goldsmiths’ sports teams, with the winner taking home the Arts Cup Trophy. Every year is jam packed with sports fixtures across one day. We took home the trophy in 2022 and we will be looking to do the same again this year! 

Varsity is a free event open to all students, so whether you want to compete, cheer our teams on, or just sample the party atmosphere, come and join in. Who can attend Varsity?

Only students who have memberships to the competing sports club can participate in the fixtures, but everyone is welcome to come and watch. So bring your friends and family along to support!
