The forest is not a collection of trees; it is a place of interconnections.
– Robin Wall Kimmerer, Potawatomi, author of "Braiding Sweetgrass"
The whole forest is in conversation, through fungi. They are the neural network, passing information, nutrients, life itself.
– Merlin Sheldrake, author of "Entangled Life"
When you understand that this mushroom is not separate from the tree, nor the soil, nor from you, then you see that the forest is a living, breathing, unified being.
– Suzanne Simard, forest ecologist
