Student Elections

In our elections, students can stand to be, and vote for, elected student leaders, some voluntary, and some paid. These representatives are your voice and act on your behalf in the Union, University and wider community fighting for you on an institutional, local and national level.

What are Arts SU Elections?

Arts SU is an independent, democratic organisation (charity) led by students who are elected by our 22,000 members (UAL students). In our elections, students can stand to be, and vote for, elected student leaders, some voluntary, and some paid. These representatives are your voice and act on your behalf in the Union, University and wider community fighting for you on an institutional, local and national level. It is so important for students to take part and vote in these elections so that individuals are elected who represent YOUR views.

Remember - you must be logged in to nominate or vote in the election.

The Arts SU Spring Elections is where students can stand and vote for their next Sabbatical Officer Trustees & School Reps for the next academic year (2025 - 2026).

20 posts are up for election.

Nominations open at 10:00 on Monday 13 January 2025 (in 20 days)

The polls open at 10:00 on Monday 3 March 2025 (in 9 weeks and 6 days)

Recommend a Student

If you know someone who might be great at a role, you can give them a bit of encouragement to put themself forward by completing our Recommend a Student form

After you suggest them, we will send them an email letting them know that someone thinks they should stand (don't worry, you do have the option to remain anonymous). This could give someone the encouragement they need!

* When Nominations are open, students can put themselves forward for an available role. During this time, they also produce publicity which includes the ideas and principles of their campaigns to show how they will represent students.
